Hello, again.
The past few weeks have been filled with visiting and visitors, jaunts short and long, book talks at libraries, and much attention to beautiful sunsets. I always experience a certain poignancy at summer’s end–the lengthening time of darkness, the hydrangeas turning from deep blue to rusty beige. It won’t be long now until a sweater will feel comfortable against the skin.
Among the summer’s interesting reads has been Melissa Riebe’s 2010 master’s degree piece: Sotto i Portici: Life in Seventeenth-Century Bologna through the Games of Giuseppe Maria Mitelli, 1634-1718. I hope you enjoy it, too.
